1、 Features and uses
Rubber low temperature brittleness tester is used to measure the temperature of rubber under specified conditions when the sample is damaged by impact, which is the brittleness temperature. It can be used to compare the performance of non hard plastics and other elastic materials at low temperature. The brittleness temperature and low temperature properties of vulcanized rubber with different rubber materials or formulations can also be measured. Therefore, it is indispensable for scientific research on the quality inspection of materials and their products and the control of production process. The instrument meets the national standards of GB / T 1682-82 determination of low temperature brittleness temperature of vulcanized rubber single sample method and GB / T 15256-94 determination of low temperature brittleness temperature of vulcanized rubber by multi sample method. All technical indexes meet the requirements of national standards. The design of the agitator in the well makes the temperature decrease more evenly and saves the temperature around the well.

The instrument can also meet the requirements of GB / T 5470-2008 "determination of impact embrittlement temperature of plastics", and can be used for low temperature brittleness test of common plastics, cable PVC and other materials.

3、 How to use it

3.1 turn on the power, the temperature controller and timer display lights.

3.2 inject the frozen medium (generally industrial ethanol) into the cold well, and the injection amount should ensure that the distance between the lower end of the gripper and the liquid level is 75 ± 10 mm.

3.3 clamp the specimen vertically on the holder. The clamp should not be too tight or too loose to prevent the specimen from deformation or falling off.

3.4 press the holder to freeze the sample, and start the timing control switch (or press the stopwatch) to time. The freezing time of the sample is 3.0 ± 0.5min. During the freezing period, the temperature fluctuation of freezing medium shall not exceed ± 1 ℃.

3.5 lift the lifting gripper so that the impactor impacts the specimen within half a second.

3.6 take down the sample, bend the specimen to 180 ° according to the impact direction, and carefully observe whether there is any damage.

3.7 after the sample is impacted (each sample is only allowed to be impacted once), in case of damage, the temperature of the frozen medium shall be increased, otherwise, the temperature of the frozen medium shall be reduced and the test shall be continued.

Through repeated tests, the minimum temperature for at least two specimens not to be damaged and the maximum temperature for at least one specimen to be damaged are determined. If the difference between the two results is no more than 1 ℃, the test is over.


4、 Test standard

4.1 specifications

The sample is 25.0 ± 0.5mm long, 6.0 ± 0.5mm wide and 2.0 ± 0.3mm thick.

4.2 requirements

The surface of the sample should be smooth without foreign impurities and damage. The finished product should be cut to the corresponding size after grinding.

5、 Precautions

5.1. Do not cut off the cooling cycle during the test, otherwise it will produce the effect of refrigeration.

5.2. Make sure that the compressor is filled with alcohol before refrigeration.

5.3. The compressor needs to work more than 0.5 hours after shutdown, otherwise the compressor will be damaged.
